With the end of 2018 apparently turning out to be a mid-range smartphone launch fortnight considering the fact that multiple smartphones launched during this period of time could create a potential healthy battle in the mid-range handsets segments in India. This could also be a bonanza for enthusiasts of various brands as there are indications that the premium mid-range smartphones segment in India could get a much-needed boost.

Hence, with mid-range smartphones, priced below INR 20000 being the criteria, we attempt to look at some of these handsets that have been giving rival brands a run for their money; thereby leading to prospective buyers making potentially informed decisions. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: USP of this device is its four camera (2 rear plus 2 front) offering, apart from its starting price tag of INR 139990. This handset runs on Google Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system.
