Xiaomi has announced a new youth-centric Mi CC series in China, and its debut product, the Mi CC 9 will break cover on July 2. Ahead of D-day, Xiaomi has shared the first official renders of the Mi CC 9 showing off the phone’s catchy gradient design and vertically aligned triple rear cameras. The said phone is rumored to come with a dewdrop-style notch on the front, but Xiaomi is yet to confirm this aspect.

The Mi CC series from Xiaomi will focus a great deal on looks and cameras – the lineup is the result of a collaboration with Meitu, a company that Xiaomi acquired not long ago. Xiaomi has previously confirmed that the Mi CC 9 will come with a 48MP main camera on the back (with Sony’s IMX 586 sensor like the Redmi Note 7 Pro) and a 32MP front-facing camera.

The renders shared by Xiaomi also confirm a few additional features – the phone in question will come with USB Type-C for charging and data syncing, headphone jack and an IR blaster.

The Mi CC 9 will launch in China first. It would be interesting to see if Xiaomi brings the phone to global markets including India anytime soon.

Rumored specs of the Mi CC 9 include a 6.39-inch 1080p+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 and 4,000mAh battery.

In other news, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch its recently announced Redmi K20-series in India by mid-July. And Xiaomi may bring the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro to India as is. To recall, there have been rumors that Xiaomi may launch the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro in India as the Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro.

Xiaomi seems to be targeting the OnePlus 7 series with its Redmi K20 series in India. Only recently, Xiaomi claimed that the Redmi K20 Pro is the fastest phone in the world. The basis of the claim here was the phone’s seemingly high AnTuTu benchmark score.
