Continuing its jabs at OnePlus, Xiaomi has now claimed that the Redmi K20 Pro is the fastest phone in the world. Xiaomi has taken to social media to tease the upcoming Redmi K20-series India launch, headlining one of its key feature, aka speed. Another phone banking heavily on the speed aspect is the OnePlus 7 Pro, and it takes no genius to make out – Xiaomi is taking a dig at OnePlus, one more time.

The basis of the claim here is the AnTuTu benchmark and even though Xiaomi doesn’t mention the score, it is pretty obvious it would be better than the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Xiaomi seems to be leaving no stone unturned to let all parties know how powerful its Redmi K20 Pro phone is, and how it betters the OnePlus 7 Pro. The Redmi K20-series will be Xiaomi’s answer to the OnePlus 7-series – and Xiaomi is being more than vocal about it.

Xiaomi has already installed giant billboards across India – pitting the Redmi K20 (and Redmi K20 Pro) straight up against the OnePlus 7 (and OnePlus 7 Pro). Each of these billboards have been installed strategically right next to a OnePlus 7 Pro billboard.

Xiaomi also takes it a step further in word play – boasting how its Redmi K20 is ‘starkly’ superior to the OnePlus 7 Pro. In case you didn’t know, Robert Downey Jr. who is synonymous with the character of Tony Stark, is the new brand ambassador of OnePlus – which is the inspiration for the word play here.

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch the Redmi K20-series in India by mid-July. And Xiaomi may bring the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro to India as is. To recall, there have been rumors that Xiaomi may launch the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro in India as the Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro.

The Redmi K20 Pro starts at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 25,200) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage while the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage costs CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 30,226). If at all Xiaomi can price the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro as aggressively in India, both these phones have the goods to give the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro a run for their money.
