The Xiaomi Mi A2 has received a permanent price cut in India. While the base version of the Mi A2 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is getting a Rs 2,000 price cut, its top-end version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will sell for Rs 3,000 less, effective immediately. The Xiaomi Mi A2 will now start at Rs 13,999 and go all the way to Rs 15,999. While the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage version of the Mi A2 was launched at Rs 16,999, the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version was launched at Rs 19,999.

The discounted prices are now effective on and Amazon India and will also apply to Mi Home stores and Xiaomi’s offline sales partners.

Xiaomi’s Mi A-line-up of Android One phones are very popular in India. They offer a welcome change for buyers who want to buy a Xiaomi phone/hardware but are not particularly fond of the company’s MIUI software. The Mi A2, to that effect, runs a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and is already upgradable to Android 9 Pie.

In terms of core hardware, the Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a 6-inch 1080p+ display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE connectivity and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 technology.

The other main highlight – in addition to stock Android software – of Xiaomi’s Mi A2 is its camera(s). The Mi A2 comes with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 12-megapixel sensor (Sony IMX 486 sensor) and another 20-megapixel sensor (Sony IMX 376 sensor). The Mi A2 dual cameras can intelligently switch between the 12MP primary and the 20MP secondary sensor depending on the available light, according to Xiaomi. On the front, the Mi A2 comes with a 20-megapixel camera.

The Mi A2 is a compelling Android One phone at its new discounted price and even though it is missing out on a 3.5mm audio jack and micro-SD storage expansion, it is still a remarkable value for money for buyers looking for clean Android software inside some noteworthy Xiaomi hardware.
