Xiaomi has launched the Mi CC9 Pro in China – the phone is expected to make its global debut as the Mi Note 10 starting with Spain. The biggest USP of the Mi CC9 Pro is its 108MP penta rear camera setup. But there’s more to the Mi CC9 Pro than just the cameras. The phon boasts of a gradient glass design, a curved AMOLED display with in-screen fingerprint scanner, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and a gigantic 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

The Mi CC9 Pro may not be a true-blue flagship phone, but it’s interesting in many ways. Which makes it obvious that comparisons with the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will be made. So, let’s just do that and get it over with, shall we? Here’s everything that you need to know about the Mi CC9 Pro, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro, and how they compare with each other.

  • The biggest difference between the three is the core hardware. The Redmi K20 Pro is the most affordable smartphone in the market now to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 mobile processor – so technically, the Redmi K20 Pro is the most powerful smartphone you can get at its price. The Redmi K20, meanwhile, is powered by the mid-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. The Mi CC9 Pro packs a gaming-focused Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G which has a higher clocked GPU promising up to 15 per cent faster graphics over the vanilla Snapdragon 730.
  • While the Redmi K20 Pro comes in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configurations, the Redmi K20 comes in 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configurations. The Mi CC9 Pro will be available in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configurations like the Redmi K20 Pro. Expandable storage isn’t supported by any of these phones.
  • The Mi CC9 Pro is Xiaomi’s first mainstream phone with a 108MP camera. Xiaomi is using a 7P lens in the vanilla Mi CC9 Pro while the maxed-out Premium edition gets 8P lens. The Mi CC9 Pro also comes with four more cameras – an 8MP telephoto camera for 5x optical, 10x hybrid and 50x digital zoom, a 12MP portrait or depth camera, a 20MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera for close-ups. The Mi CC9 Pro also comes with two dual tone flash modules on the rear. Also, two of those rear cameras come with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) - this is for the main and telephoto cameras. Both the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 have a 48MP main camera but while the Redmi K20 Pro uses a more potent Sony IMX586 sensor, the Redmi K20 makes do with a Sony IMX582 sensor. The Redmi K20 Pro also gets Laser Autofocus out-of-the-box – the Redmi K20 doesn’t. Both the phones also come with an 8MP telephoto sensor behind f/2.4 52mm lens for 2x optical zoom, and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor behind an f/2.4 15mm lens.
  • Both the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 have a 20MP pop-up selfie camera while the Mi CC9 Pro has a 32MP selfie shooter housed in a waterdrop-style notch.
  • The Mi CC9 Pro comes with a 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging. Both the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 pack a 4,000mAh battery but while the Redmi K20 Pro supports 27W fast charging, the Redmi K20 makes do with 18W fast charging.
  • Both the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 come with a 6.39-inch 1080p+ AMOLED screen with an in-screen fingerprint reader and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Mi CC9 Pro has a 6.47-inch 1080p+ AMOLED display with Xiaomi’s dot-notch, in-screen fingerprint scanner, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
