The Redmi 7 launch seems imminent. The Redmi 7, which is said to be the successor of the Redmi 6, has leaked in full courtesy an
The Redmi 7, by the looks of it, will look a lot like the Redmi Note 7/Redmi Note 7 Pro – it will also have a similar dot notch but a relatively thicker chin. Unlike the all-glass body of the Redmi Note 7/Redmi Note 7 Pro though, the Redmi 7 will be all-plastic. Also, unlike the Redmi Note 7/Redmi Note 7 Pro that come with USB Type-C, the Redmi 7 will use standard micro-USB for charging and data syncing.
The hands-on video shows off the blue variant although there should be more colours at launch. Also, the hands-on video shows off an odd 3GB RAM and 64GB configuration – a recent TENAA listing suggested the Redmi 7 will come in 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB configurations.
The rest of the hardware specs seem to be in line with the affordable nature of phone. The Redmi 7 is said to come with a 6.26-inch 720p+ display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor under the hood. The phone is said to come with dual rear cameras (12MP+5MP) and 8MP front camera. It is further said to pack a 4,000mAh battery.
According to the leak, the Redmi 7 will cost CNY 900 which roughly translates to Rs 9,399 – it isn’t clear if the quoted price is for the specified variant being talked about in the hands-on video, or if it is the Redmi 7’s starting price.
Xiaomi is yet to confirm the existence of the Redmi 7 so we suggest you take this piece of information with a pinch of salt – also the presence of the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro means, it would be hard for Xiaomi to justify a Redmi 7. But the company has been successfully pulling off such a portfolio for a while now – a Redmi 7A could be also in the works for all you know. So, we will have to wait and watch how things pan out in the days to come.
