Xiaomi has slashed the price of the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India after the Redmi Note 7 Pro launch - the base variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is now available for buying for as low as Rs 11,999. The price of the top-end Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant remains unchanged at Rs 15,999.

The discounted prices are now effective on Mi.com/in and Flipkart and will also apply to Mi Home stores and Xiaomi’s offline sales partners.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro was launched in India at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, going all the way to Rs 15,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro now starts at Rs 11,999 – although only recently it had received an even greater price cut of Rs 3,000 for a limited period. The top-end variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is meanwhile available for Rs 15,999.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro price cut comes on the same day that Xiaomi announced a more or less similar price cut on its Android One-backed Mi A2 phone.

The base variant of the Xiaomi Mi A2 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is now available for buying for Rs 11,999. The price of the top-end Xiaomi Mi A2 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant remains unchanged at Rs 15,999.

Clearly, both the Redmi Note 6 Pro and the Mi A2 now have the same selling price in India – the Mi A2 is a welcome change for buyers looking to buy a Xiaomi phone/hardware but are not particularly fond of the company’s MIUI software while the Redmi Note 6 Pro is a value for money mid-range offering that focuses a great deal on performance and camera(s).

The Mi A2 comes with a 6-inch 1080p+ display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE connectivity and packs a 3,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 technology. It comes with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 12-megapixel sensor and another 20-megapixel sensor. On the front, the Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a 20-megapixel camera.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a 6.26-inch 1080p+ display with a notch and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE connectivity and packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It comes with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 12-megapixel sensor and another 5-megapixel sensor. The Redmi Note 6 Pro also has a dual camera system on the front – consisting of one 20-megapixel sensor and another 2-megapixel sensor.
