The Redmi Note 7 is coming soon to India, Xiaomi has already confirmed. A new report now suggests it could come to India as soon as on February 12. 91mobiles seems to have accessed what it claims to be the official invite for the Redmi Note 7 India launch. The invite says Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 7 in India at a keynote event in the National Capital on February 12.

Although the invite does not mention the name of the phone that is launching on February 12, it carries with it a partial image of a phone with a teardrop/waterdrop-style notch like the one found in the Redmi Note 7. And the fact that Xiaomi has already started teasing the launch of the Redmi Note 7 in India soon, there is a very high probability that it could be the same smartphone.

The Redmi Note 7 is the first Redmi phone to launch under Xiaomi’s independent Redmi sub-brand: the same reason why the Redmi Note 7 is also branded as ‘Redmi by Xiaomi’ and not simply Xiaomi. It comes with a new gradient design and a teardrop/waterdrop-style notch on the front.

The main USP of the Redmi Note 7 is said to be its 48MP rear camera. There’s also a 5MP secondary camera for depth-sensing. On the front, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a 13MP camera.

Hardware specs include, 6.3-inch 1080p+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with up to 6GB RAM and up to 64GB storage, Android Pie-based MIUI 10, and 4,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4. The dual-SIM phone charges via USB Type-C and retains the headphone jack as well.

In China, the Redmi Note 7 starts for as low as CNY 999 (which roughly translates to Rs 10,385) for the base version with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage going all the way to CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs 14,539) for the top-end version with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is also a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version of the Redmi Note 7 that will sell for CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs 12,460).

Xiaomi will also be launching a more potent variant of the Redmi Note 7, aka the Redmi Note 7 Pro, in China after the Spring Festival which is on February 5. It would be interesting to see if Xiaomi is also planning to bring the Redmi Note 7 Pro in the days to come.
