Xiaomi has launched an all-new Astro White colour variant of its popular Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S phones in India. The Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S are available in a slew of colour options, but with different undertones - while the Redmi Note 7 Pro is available in gradient Nebula Red, Neptune Blue and Space Black, the Redmi Note 7S comes in solid Onyx Black, Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue. The newly announced Astro White will be shared by both the phones though – which is nice.
The Astro White colour variant of both the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S will be available for pre-order in India starting from August 8 (12PM IST) from Flipkart and Mi.com - it isn’t immediately clear if Xiaomi will make the said variant available through offline sales channels as well.
The Redmi Note 7S starts at Rs 10,999 for the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, going all the way to Rs 12,999 for the top-end variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The Redmi Note 7 Pro starts at Rs 13,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, while the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs 16,999. The Astro White colour variant of both the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S will sell at similar prices as all existing models.
The specs will also remain the same. The USP in both the cases is the 48MP main camera. The Redmi Note 7S is the first phone at its price point to pack a whopping 48MP main camera. It does not have the same 48MP camera sensor as the Redmi Note 7 Pro though.
While the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a Sony IMX586 sensor, the Redmi Note 7S packs a Samsung GM1 sensor – that uses software interpolation to produce high-quality 48MP resolution photos instead of supporting them natively like the Sony IMX586.
The 48MP main camera is paired with a 5MP secondary sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography in both the phones. On the front, the Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7 Pro both come with a 13MP camera.
