South Korean electronics brand Samsung is now reimagining boring bus stops by converting these into places where you could charge your flagship smartphones while you wait for your bus to arrive. The wireless charging stations at bus stops has begun with Singapore.

For this, Samsung has inked deals with JCDecaux Singapore to incorporate “out-of-home” wireless charging assembly units at bus stops. For this, the PowerSharing functionality within Samsung’s newest Galaxy S10 Plus (Galaxy S10+) smartphones would supply power to compatible smartphones held by users at the bus stops.

According to a report in The Drum, this campaign called the Out-of-Home has been implemented in ten major bus stops in Singapore. Hence, if you are in SIngapore, do check if you are able to wirelessly charge your smartphones at any of these wireless charging hubs.

Here, it is worth noting that the Wireless PowerShare feature lets users of other compatible smartphones charge their handsets wirelessly through the power of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. The duration of charging depends entirely on users’ smartphones here.

With the Samsung Galaxy S10, offering the Wireless PowerShare functionality, being the focal point here, it is naturally imminent to revisit the key technical aspects of the smartphone:

  • 6.4-inch display having resolutions of 1440 x 3040 pixels with pixel density of approximately 552 ppi
  • Android 9.0 (Pie) operating platform
  • Octa-core Exynos 9820 EMEA
  • 12 MP + 12 MP + 16 MP triple snappers at the back
  • 10 MP + 8 MP dual front cameras
  • 8 GB RAM, 12 GB RAM editions
  • 128 GB, 512 GB internal storage editions
  • LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1 connectivity
  • 4100 mAh fixed Lithium-Ion battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is priced in India at a staggering Rs 70,000 - which make sit still lesser than the Apple iPhone X; a 64GB edition of which has a whopping Rs 91000 price tag in the country.
