The Bharatiya Janata Party released its Lok Sabha election manifesto on Monday in presence of PM Narendra Modi. Top BJP leaders including party president Amit Shah, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley were also present at the occasion in New Delhi. In the 48-page 'Sankalp Patra', the party has highlighted its vision a 'New India' in the next five years.

AI and robotic search Missions

Bharatiya Janata Party’s focus will remain primarily on improving the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and robotic research mission. BJP has also promised to launch a new Science Mission for “development of cutting edge technologies” as well as future technologies.

“Our first agenda is our people. Today much of our S&T investment is in central institutions. We will aim to spread this to 95 per cent of students who attend state government institutions also. This will be done by investment from the government through a National Research Foundation in partnership with states. Industry investment in R&D will also be enhanced, in partnership with our network of national laboratories.”

Language translation mission

BJP has promised to launch a language translation mission. This way, BJP wants to enable translation of English text in ‘Science & Technology and Humanities’ in different languages of India.

“This will take the best works, bilingually, to every student in the country.”

Genome Mission for human health

BJP has promised to initiate a genome mission for human health which aims to bring the latest diagnosis and treatment.

Deep-sea exploration

BJP has promised to explore the diversity of oceans using human crewed submersible “to facilitate sustainable use of resources.” BJP also aims to reduce imports by making use of non-fossil fuels.

Supercomputer and quantum missions

BJP has promised to make India a leader in terms of supercomputing, artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing. Smartphone industry primarily will benefit from BJP’s focus on semiconductor manufacturing within the country.

“The Swachh Bharat mission has transformed one side of Swachhata. Now we will get the latest technologies to transform waste to Energy and Wealth in a major mission.”

India’s first manned mission to space

After the ‘Mission Shakti,’ BJP’s focus in the race of space exploration will remain on ‘Gangayaan,’ India’s first manned mission to space.

“After achieving unprecedented success through Mission Shakti, we are committed to ensuring that Gangayaan successfully demonstrates our scientific capabilities of executing a manned mission in space.”
