If you are a Twitter user whose account has been locked out due to age-related constraints, then you now have good news as you could likely get back your accounts. With respect to this, you should now be receiving emails indicating reactivation of your accounts.
Here, in case you are among those having lost access to Twitter due to age-related issues you should note that Twitter last year locked accounts of users under the age of 13. This ruling led to a customized hashtag called “TwitterLockOut” with locked users demanding that the micro-blogging site return access to their accounts.
Now, Twitter stated that it would send out emails to “eligible” users whose access could be restored. In case you are among such a user base then check your Mailboxes for instructions on restoring access to your Twitter accounts.
Also, the micro-blogging platform has reportedly stated that it was open to finding ways to delete tweets of users under the age of 13 whilst allowing such users to continue to operate their accounts. However, new users under the age of 13 may not be able to create an account on Twitter.
As far as the latest developments are concerned, in case you qualify as being eligible, as per age, you should receive the “eligibility notifications via emails” from Twitter containing your account-related details. To log in to your account, do navigate to Twitter and check if you could see a custom Get Started option; you could get back onto Twitter within 30 days after you have received your “eligibility” certification emails with your account information. These emails could also seed in phases; hence do not fret for now.
Finally, as per TechCrunch, despite completing the unlocking process, users would need to wait before Twitter completes and approves the request form their end. We are not sure as to how long would this take.
