South Korea is battling one of its worst wildfires, which has swept through the southern regions, killing 18 people and destroying over 200 structures. Officials reported that 27,000 residents have been evacuated as the fires continue to spread. Among the losses are a 1,300-year-old Buddhist temple, homes, factories, and vehicles. The wildfires have scorched 43,330 acres and left 19 people injured, according to the government’s emergency response center.
