Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh Killed In Iran After New President Inauguration

Haniyeh targeted while visiting Tehran for the inauguration of Iran’s new president. A statement by Iran Guards said the attack on Haniyeh was carried out early Wednesday. Ismail Haniyeh & Iranian security guard were targeted at the place of their residence. Hamas made the statement on Haniyeh's death on its official Telegram account. Israel vowed to kill Haniyeh and other Hamas leaders over the group’s October 7 attack. Israel didn't immediately comment but it often doesn’t when it comes to Mossad killings. Israel is suspected of running a years-long assassination campaign targeting Iranians. In 2020, a top Iranian military nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, was killed.
