Karnataka Politics: Hike For Politicians, MLAs' Wages To Be Increased From ₹40,000 To ₹80,000

The Karnataka government has approved a proposal to increase the salaries of state legislators by 50 per cent. The Chief Minister-led Business Advisory Committee recently sanctioned a 50% hike in salaries for Members of the Legislative Assembly and ministers. Prior to this hike, legislators received a base salary of approximately Rs 1 lakh per month, supplemented by allowances that brought their total monthly earnings to over Rs 3 lakh. Getting in the latest response from the Home Minister G Parameshwara now who has defended the move saying that just like the common man, the expenditure of the MLAs are also increasing.
