AFG-NZ Cricket Fans Disappointed With Greater Noida Stadium Infrastructure, Here What Went Wrong
Drizzle, water-puddle and chaos dominated the second day at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Stadium in Greater Noida on Tuesday. We at Republic World reached ground zero to track all the developments from the venue. Just as we were about to enter the stadium, we saw there was a huge deployment of cops. It was surprising because there were not as many fans in comparison. The first look at the ground and you feel you are at a local cricket club. Then we see match referee Javagal Srinath walk out to the centre to have a look at the outfield and speak with the groundsmen to get an understanding of the conditions. That is when the New Zealand players reached the ground and walked inside to have a look. One has to admit, the groundstaff has worked hard; replaced the grass patches, used fans to dry the surface and the super soppers have been going around since Monday.
