A viral post sparks debate over Kannada activists forcing pubs in Bangalore to play only Kannada songs instead of Hindi/English.
A post has gone viral on the internet in which a man has claimed that a pub in which he was sitting in was crashed by the Kannada activists and they forced the management to play Kannada songs instead of any Hindi or English music. Moreover, he said that the pubs all over the city have started playing Kannada songs, after pressure from the local activists groups.
Abhayjeet AJ shared this on social media platform and wrote, “I was sitting for some drinks in a pub of bangalore there a group of locals come & want to play kannada music, means now because of some people of @banglore don't want to play english songs in banglore.”
“The statement is they only want kannada music, no hindi & english music to play... am i still in india or some other country... or bangalore is some other country apart from india,” he further added.

He shared this post on LinkedIn with a picture of the club. One X user took a screengrab of the post with the image and shared it on the platform with a caption that reads, “So now North Indians have problem in playing Kannada Songs in Bengaluru PUBs. Imagine the arrogance these guys have.”
And soon after the post was done it went viral and users started debates in the comment section, some of them supported this while some didn’t.

“There are pubs in Brigade Road that keep blaring Hindi & Punjabi songs in full volume. It comes on to the road. U enter Brigade Road & u feel like it is some place in North India! They have fully taken over Brigade Road,” said one user.
Another one said, “if everything happened to your accord, like y'all demand kannada songs it should be played, well tomorrow your employer is gonna talk in English to you and use a few Hindi words here and there.. that time please say "talk in kannada or terminate me" and maneli koothkoll.”
A third user wrote, “Back in 2016 I went to a pub in Indiranagar with my friends. We had just graduated and all of us had recently shifted to blr. DJ was playing English and Hindi songs. After sometime we requested the DJ to play some Kannada songs. We were asked to leave. How times have changed.”
