Viral News: An ‘tone deaf’ email from an angry boss has sparked widespread debate online after three of his employees quit together for a better opportunity.
The email, which was shared by Instagram user "@quitbytext" on Threads, shows the boss’s rage over the resignations and has left many stunned by his response.
The employees, who resigned citing better opportunities" as the reason for leaving, were criticized in the form of a company-wide email with the subject line “Urgent.” The boss expressed his disbelief and anger over their decision tong consideration for their colleagues.
He wrote, "Your ‘better opportunities’ (doubtful. we pay you all fair wages) are really worth affecting your team members’ quality of life? I myself have children, and instead of being at their band recital this week, I will have to be sitting at work posting job offers on Indeed. This is outrageous."
He introduced harsh new policies, including extending the notice period from the two weeks to three months. During this period, the employees would face a salary deduction of $6 per hour, which the boss justified by stating, "Since you will be leaving, your reduction in pay should be no issue. That’s how this works from now on."
The boss also added to work an additional 30 hours of overtime per week until the new hires were fully trained. The boss blamed the departing employees and wrote, "You can thank your insubordinates for this. You can also thank them for the extra 30 hours of overtime per week you will be assigned to until I find new hires and they are fully trained."
Several netizens slammed the introductions by the boss.
One user wrote, “And now we know why three people quit at once in an absolutely coordinated move. Someone should send this to the local labor board.”
Another added, “I wouldn’t even respond. $6/hr is illegal and I’d sue.” Others pointed out the toxic nature of the workplace, with one user writing, “I’ve heard that people leave managers, not jobs. This guy is out to prove it.”
This incident has sparked a widespread debate online.
