Delayed Visa, Not Love: Corporator's Son Marries Pakistani Girl Online
An Indian youth married a Pakistani girl online due to visa delays, fulfilling the bride's mother's wish before her critical illness.
In a unique and heartfelt ceremony, Mohammed Abbas Haider, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district and son of BJP corporator Tehsin Shahid, married Pakistani girl Andaleeb Zahara online on Friday. The couple's marriage was initially arranged last year, but delays in visa processing prevented Andaleeb from attending in person.
Reports indicate that the groom’s family applied for visas a year ago, but the approvals did not come through. As the situation grew more urgent, particularly due to the critical illness of the bride’s mother, Rana Yasmin Zaidi, the two families decided to proceed with the wedding online. Rana expressed her wish to see her daughter married before her health deteriorated further.
The ceremony took place at an ‘Imambara,’ a shrine of the Shia community, where the groom, his family, and guests gathered to witness the proceedings on a TV screen. Following the wedding, a grand community feast was organised in celebration.
Attendees included senior district BJP leaders, reflecting the significance of the event within the local community. Mohammed Abbas Haider made an appeal to the government, urging them to expedite the visa process for his bride, highlighting the family's hopes for a future together.
