As per reports, one customer traveled all the way from Ahmedabad and waited for more than 21 hours to purchase the new iPhone. "I have been standing in the queue for the last 21 hours. I have been here since 11 AM yesterday and will be the first to enter the store today at 8 AM. I am very excited... The atmosphere in Mumbai for this phone is absolutely electric... Last year, I stood in the queue for 17 hours," he said.
The capital city also witnessed long queues outside the Apple store in Select Citywalk in Saket, Delhi.
Apple began sales at its Mumbai BKC store at 8:00 AM sharp.
According to Counterpoint Research Director Tarun Pathak, there is strong pre-order demand for the base iPhone 16 model compared to last year. With attractive financing options, “the new 16 series is set to break previous records."
Apple ’s new product is produced in Indian factories and launched globally.
Among the early buyers was Akshay, who arrived at a store as early as 6 am to get his hands on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. "I'm thrilled with my new purchase," Akshay exclaimed, citing iOS 18 and the improved zoom camera quality as key factors in his decision.

The new iPhone 16 series in India starts at Rs 79,900 for the 128GB version, Rs 89,900 for the 256GB variant, and Rs 109,900 for the 512GB model. The iPhone 16 Plus is priced at Rs 89,900 for the 128GB option, Rs 99,900 for the 256GB model, and Rs 119,900 for the 512GB variant
