The world is filled with people of all types, and bad people dissolve our beliefs in humanity. There will always be a ray of light in the utter darkness, which will be led by good people. And a recent incident has increased belief in the good. You have seen people saying “money is everything,” but for some people, humanity comes first, and a recent Reddit post highlighted this thing where a Rapido captain is getting appreciation from the netizens.
A Reddit user remembered an incident when she fell while going to her PG from the office and injured herself. One person standing there laughed at her but didn’t come up and offer help.In that situation, she booked a Rapido ride, and the driver arrived in 5 minutes. After looking at her situation with one shoe in her hand, the driver asks her what happened, and she tells him everything, including that she is doing an internship on the journey.
She wrote, “That was weird. Anyway, I had no other choice but to book a Rapido and see if I can get back soon because walking was no longer an option. Luckily I got a captain who came within 5 mins."
Check out the post:
"He saw me holding my shoes and he asked me “what happened”? I said “I fell”. Then throughout the journey he asked me about myself, where I was heading to, why I chose to walk, etc. He basically called me a baby when he found out I was interning. Then he dropped me till the pg reception and DID NOT TAKE MONEY,” she added.
As the journey ended and she tried to give him the money, he refused because she was still an intern. She said she tried several times but he refused. For that she said, “I kept insisting but he said “when you get your own money then give it to someone who needs it. I try doing one good thing everyday, you are that for me. Go check if you’re hurt and take care.” I did not deserve that I told him don’t do this I’ll pay it’s really alright but he said “you deserve it because you’re a good person, now go”.”
The Reddit post has got more than 1,400 upvotes with 69 comments. People in the comment section appreciated the Rapido driver for his generosity.
