Melania recalls the moment , saying “I saw my friend wave at someone behind me. When I turned around, I noticed a man and an attractive blonde woman approaching us.” Donald introduced himself with confidence, “Hi. I’m Donald Trump .” Although Melania recognized his name, she admitted to knowing little about him at the time. “I knew he was a businessman or celebrity, but not much else.”

Melania was impressed by Donald’s interest and charm when he sat down next to her. They talked about her life in New York, her background in Slovenia, and her travels. She wrote, “From the moment we started talking, I was drawn to his charm and relaxed attitude.” Even with all the noise around them, Donald made her feel like she was the only person that mattered.

When Donald's date stepped away briefly, he seized the moment to ask for Melania’s phone number. Instead, she playfully replied, “Give me your number.” Donald responded, “I’ll give you my number if you promise to call me.” He then discreetly instructed his bodyguard to write down his number on a sleek business card, which he handed to her.

The couple dated on and off before marrying in 2005 and welcoming their son, Barron, in 2006. Melania fondly recalls their time together, sharing, “We regularly went to the theater to see almost every new release. Our evenings were filled with the excitement of baseball games, football games, and boxing events.”
