WATCH: Telangana Weaver Crafts Mesmerizing Gold Saree Worth Rs 18 Lakh

A Sircilla-based weaving artist, Nalla Vijay Kumar, has left users in awe with his craftsmanship. A unique saree, made entirely of gold, was ordered by a Hyderabad-based businessman for his daughter’s wedding.

The businessman placed the order six months in advance, as creating the stunning piece required meticulous work and attention to detail.

Vijay Kumar explained that recasting gold into fine threads for weaving required surgical precision and took a considerable amount of time. The sophisticated design was brought to life 10-12 days after the gold yarn was prepared.

The saree is 49 inches wide and measures five and a half meters in length. Weighing between 800 and 900 grams, it contains approximately 200 grams of pure gold. The total cost of this magnificent piece is estimated to be a staggering Rs 18 lakh.

Expressing his satisfaction, Vijay Kumar said, "It is an honor to weave such a unique saree. Completing this project not only brings me immense joy but also fulfills a dream that reflects my passion for this art."

The saree will be presented to the family on the day of the wedding, which is set to take place on October 17.

Sircilla is a town in Telangana known for its skilled handloom weavers, with Nalla Vijay Kumar being one of its finest artisans.
