Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been unveiled as the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) candidate from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

Smriti Irani joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2003. The following year, she was appointed vice-president of the Maharashtra Youth Wing in 2004.

Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda recently joined Shiv Sena in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Govinda had previously contested the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat in 2004.
