Basohli, Madhubani paintings showcased at Folk art exhibition in J&K

The 'Sangam' art exhibition by Archana Jha Choudhary presents the confluence of Basohli miniature paintings and Madhubani paintings.

Basohli miniature painting, considered the first school of pahari paintings originated in Jammu region, are known for their deep-set facial patterns, powerful lines, and brilliant, evocative colors.

Madhubani paintings, sometimes referred to as Mithila paintings, originated in the Mithila region of Bihar and trace its antiquity to ancient times.
