Tropcial Cyclone Seroja has left a trail of destruction after slamming into towns in Western Australia late on Sunday.

The category three cyclone packing wind gusts up to 170 kilometers per hour made landfall near the town of Kalbarri in the state's Midwest coast about 580 kilometers north of Perth, destroying and damaging homes, uprooting trees and downing power lines.

Aerial footage on Monday showed the scale of damage caused by the strong gusts which forced the roofs of many buildings to collapse.

The cyclone weakened to a tropical low as it pushed inland into the state.

There's been no reports of injuries so far.

Cyclone Seroja caused a severe downpour that killed at least 174 people and left 48 still missing in Indonesia and Timor-Leste, formerly known as East Timor, last week.
