New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale hit Afghanistan on Wednesday morning, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

According to the NCS, the quake took place at round 6.49am.

The quake occurred at a depth of 210 kilometres.

The epicentre of the earthquake was located at Latitude 36.47 N and Longitude 70.32 E.

The NCS tweeted, "EQ of M: 4.2, On: 31/07/2024 06:49:56 IST, Lat: 36.47 N, Long: 70.32 E, Depth: 210 Km, Location: Afghanistan(sic)."

However, there were no reports of any injuries or damage to property.
