An English man climbed Barcelona's iconic Agbar Tower on Saturday without ropes or safety equipment. It took 40 minutes for extreme athlete George King to climb up and down the 33-storey building, which is 144 metres (472 ft) high. The building is also known as the Glories Tower.
The 20-year-old rose to fame after free-climbing the Shard skyscraper in London last July. He was detained and spent three months in prison. King had intended to do the Barcelona climb in a Santa Claus costume, but decided he would be safer without it. Back on level ground, he said his aim was to cheer people up over a holiday season married by the virus pandemic. Modestly, he said he was no Spiderman. "I'm just George," he said. "George King."
