Mass virus vaccinations take place in Croatia

Croatia opened a mass COVID-19 vaccination centre at Zagreb Fair on Wednesday for elderly citizens and those with chronic illnesses.

Around 1,500 citizens were invited to receive a shot.

So far 326,771 have received a first jab, while just under 100,000 people received both doses, local media reported.

Croatia has seen an increased number of people infected with the coronavirus in recent days.

On Wednesday, 1,649 cases and 36 deaths were registered.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Croatia has reported 282,548 cases of people infected with the virus, and 6,149 deaths.
