Beaches that would be normally crowded with German tourists over Easter are now almost deserted die to pandemic restrictions.
Restaurants, bars and leisure facilities have all been shut since early November all over the country, and hotels remain closed to tourists.
Current rules technically allow Germans to make a day trip, but closed hotels and cold weather have stopped many from doing so.
The country's disease control agency announced 18,129 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 120 additional deaths on Saturday.
