Ahead of the ‘Howdy, Modi’ event in Texas in the United States, Republic TV spoke exclusively to teenage singing sensation Sparsh Shah who will be singing the Indian National Anthem at the mega-event, and his father Hiren Shah. Sparsh, in his melodious voice, sang the song ‘Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walo’ for the viewers of Republic World.

 A super huge event

Speaking about his upcoming performance, he said, “I will be performing the National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ tomorrow morning at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, for the ‘Howdy, Modi’ event before the speech of our PM Narendra Modi and, of course, President Trump is also going to be there, so it’s a super huge event.” He mentioned that around 50,000 people are expected to fill the stadium which actually beats his current live performance record by 20,000 people at least.

He also said, “I am going to sing with a few other kids like a choir together, so it is going to be an amazing performance and I truly believe that will make everyone in India, America and around the world very proud of being Indians.” When asked about his performance plans, he said that he doesn’t have anything planned besides the National Anthem and he would also like to meet Prime Minister Modi because he is going to be present at the event.

'An event as important as the annual football championship game'

Also, Republic TV spoke to the Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner ahead of the 'Howdy, Modi' event in Texas in the United States on Saturday, just a day ahead of the mega-event. Mayor Turner said that for Houston, the even is as big as Super Bowl, which is a huge sporting spectacle in the United States. Turner said the number of people and the kind of dignitaries attending the event makes 'Howdy, Modi!' as big as the Super Bowl. He said that the city is treating it important as the annual football championship game.

'Treating as a Super Bowl event'

"Yes, it is a Super Bowl Sunday when you have the Prime Minister Modi come at the NRG Stadium in the city of Houston along with the President of US... there will be Governors, Senators, lot of Congress-persons, over 50,000 people. Frankly, we are treating as a Super Bowl event," Mayor Sylvester Turner said. He also said that the event has been organised very efficiently. He said that every single detail was planned out because they want it all to go smoothly.
