Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had directed its Home Ministry to ensure strict punishment for the accused pirncipal.
Vadodara: Nearly a week after a 6-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her school's principal in Gujarat 's Dahod, state Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi said that a chargesheet has been filed on the case. He further stated that Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had directed its Home Ministry to ensure strict punishment for the accused.
Meanwhile, a special PP (public prosecutor) has been appointed and a committee was formed, including FSL, medical and technology teams to probe the incident.
Adding further, Sanghavi said, "About 300 people conducted investigations and submitted 1,700-page chargesheet in the court within 12 days. Forensic Laboratory was extensively used in this case. Digital evidence, Forensic DNA Analysis, Forensic Biological Analysis and other similar evidence have been included in the chargesheet filed today."
On September 24, the school's principal, Govind Natt (55), was arrested after the case came to light. The minor girl's body was found in the school compound in Torani village and a probe was initiated on Principal Natt.
The accused had allegedly choked the girl to death while she was resisting sexual assault attempts. Later, the accused dumped the body of a minor on the premises of the school.
The post-mortem report has also confirmed that the minor girl was suffocated to death.
Highlighting the details of the case, police said that the girl used to go with the Principal to school everyday, however on the day of committing the crime, the accused took the girl to some other location and did not reach the school. According to police, the principal tried to sexually assault the girl while both were on their way to school, but when the girl resisted and started shouting, the accused abandoned the plan to continue.
Principal Confessed to Crime
Days after the girl went missing, the police questioned the Principal, who claimed he had dropped her off at school. However, upon investigation and tracing of his mobile location, the police found that his statements were inconsistent with the actual facts.
"He picked up the girl from her home at around 10.20 am. Her mother helped her get into the principal's car and saw her off. But she never reached the school. The school's students and teachers confirmed this. On the way to school, the principal tried to sexually assault her, and she started shouting," police said.
“Principal choked the girl to stop her from shouting,” an official said.
