'I Was Shot 12 Times...': Oct 7 Hamas Attack Victims Recount Horror As Israel Marks 1 Year of Terror
On one year of the October 7 Hamas Attack, Israel has shared a heart-wrenching video of locals and soldiers revisiting the day of horror.
Tel Aviv: It has been a year since Hamas fired 5000 rockets from the Gaza Strip to Israel, killing hundreds of people. The decades-long Israel-Palestine Conflict turned into a full-fledged Israel-Hamas War. The war which started with two nations, has now spread across West Asia as Iran, Lebanon and Syria are among nations that are involved. On one year of October 7 Hamas Attack, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have shared a heart-wrenching video of soldiers, frontline workers and locals recalling the horrific day.
‘Never Forget’: IDF Share Heart-Wrenching Video
On one year of the October 7 attack, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have shared a video on their social media account on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), with the hashtag ‘Never Forget’. The video has family members of those killed, soldiers and other Israelis talking about the horrors they had witnessed on October 7, in different parts of Israel following Hamas' attack.
‘I Was Shot 12 Times in My Body…’
The video begins with a woman army officer, recalling her horrific experience while she did her duty and saved her country. She reveals how she was shot 12 times in her body, bullets being fired at her legs, hip, hands and shoulder.
She said, “On October 7, I was shot 12 times in my body… in my two legs, in my hips, left hand and shoulder were all hit. We were six soldiers, we tried to fight back… they threw grenades into our room, got inside and shot everyone.”
‘There Were Bodies, Just Bodies…’
Another soldier recounted that fateful day and said, “Injured people coming to the hospital. There were bodies, just bodies coming to the hospital… people (lying) dead near me. Alina was killed on October 7… she was my girlfriend.”
‘First Thing I See is 3 Young Kids Killed at the Gate’
Another soldier, who has bene fighting for Israel revisited the horror and said, “We run into Be'eri and the first thing I see is three young kids killed at the gate. After three-and-a-half intense days of fighting with barely any sleep, food or water, we were able to take control of Kibbutz Be'eri again. We will never stop fighting to make sure something like this never happens again.”
‘My Family Members Were Murdered… House Became A War-Zone’
The kin of people who were brutally killed by Hamas on October 7 shared what they had gone through then - on the fateful day of October 7 and what they are feeling now, a year since the attack.
A young girl who lost most of her family members revisited the day and said, “Four members of my family were murdered and seven others were kidnapped. My family got into the safe room, they were spread into two houses that day. In one house everyone was murdered and in the other, almost everyone was kidnapped except for one, that was also murdered. Even a year later, we are still grieving, we're still mourning about the people we lost.”
Another man described how his house suddenly became a war-zone. He said, “It's a weird situation because its your house… its a place that you make barbeque… its a place that you host your friend. And in a second, its a war-zone. 64 people of Kfar Aza were murdered on this day and 19 people were kidnapped.”
