‘Lying’: Ayatollah Khamenei Accuses U.S. of Deception Over Middle East Conflict
Khamenei asserted that Israel's recent killings of top Hezbollah commanders will not dismantle the Iran-backed group.
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has made a bold statement regarding Israel’s ongoing conflicts on two fronts, accusing the United States of being complicit despite claims of non-involvement. Speaking through official channels, Khamenei asserted, “In this battle that Lebanon and Palestine are currently engaged in, the infidel and evil enemy is equipped with the best resources and backed by the U.S.”
He dismissed American claims of ignorance, stating, “They’re lying! They are both aware and involved.” Khamenei emphasized that the U.S. requires the Israeli regime to succeed, particularly in light of upcoming elections. “The current U.S. administration needs to show that it is the one that has helped the Zionist regime achieve victory,” he said, suggesting that political motivations drive U.S. foreign policy.
Khamenei pointed out the contradictory stance of the U.S., which, he argued, is trying to gain support from Muslim voters while simultaneously supporting Israel. “They need the votes of Muslims, so they pretend they’re not involved,” he noted.
Khamenei further asserted that Israel's recent killings of top Hezbollah commanders will not dismantle the Iran-backed group.
In a meeting with military personnel and veterans of the Iran-Iraq war, Khamenei stated, “The organizational strength and human resources of Hezbollah are very strong and will not be critically affected by the loss of a senior commander, even if it is a significant setback.”
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by Hezbollah, noting, “Some of the effective and valuable forces of Hezbollah were martyred, which undoubtedly caused damage, but this is not the kind of loss that can bring the group to its knees.” Khamenei confidently proclaimed, “The Palestinian and Lebanese resistance will have the final victory.”
He further criticized the U.S., claiming that despite Washington's assertions of ignorance regarding Israel’s plans to target Hezbollah’s communication networks, “the U.S. both knows and interferes.” Khamenei pointed out that President Biden's administration requires a victory for Israel before the upcoming presidential election in November.
