Islamabad: At least 2 children were killed and over 15 people were severely injured after a massive bomb blast took place near the police headquarters in Pakistan's Pishin district located in the southwestern region. In the tragic bomb blast, which went off a few metres distance from the police headquarters resulted in injuring as many as seven police officers as well. The explosion occurred when a remote-controlled bomb, concealed on a motorcycle, was detonated in a crowded area.

According to police officials, the bomb was planted on a motorcycle parked near the police headquarters. The two children who were passing by at the time of the explosion were among the fatalities. The powerful blast has caused significant damage and has left multiple individuals wounded.

The incident has heightened security concerns in the region, which has previously experienced similar attacks. In January, a bomb blast targeting a polio protection team in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province resulted in the deaths of at least five police officers and injuries to dozens more.

The authorities are investigating the attack and have heightened security measures to prevent further incidents. The explosion underscores the ongoing challenges in maintaining safety and stability in the region amidst persistent threats of violence.
