Washington: Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday reacted to another "assassination attempt" on former US President Donald Trump , saying no one is "trying to assassinate Biden or Harris."

The tech mogul commented while responding to a user on X, who said,  "Why they want to kill Donald Trump ?" to which Musk replied, "And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala."

Musk's comments come in the wake of the latest incident in Florida where Trump narrowly skipped another assassination attempt. The billionaire recently showed his support for the Republican presidential candidate after the first assassination attempt in Pennsylvania around two months ago.

Second Assassination Attempt on Trump

On Sunday, gunshots were allegedly fired in the vicinity of Donald Trump at the Donald Trump International Golf Club in Flordia's West Palm Beach, almost nine weeks after he survived another attack on his life while he was in Pennsylvania.

Donald Trump said that he is safe and well, and the suspect has been held and is in custody. The arrested accused has been identified as Ryan Wesley Routh (58). The accused who pointed a rifle with a scope into Trump's golf club was arrested,  three law enforcement officials told the news agency AP.

US Secret Service agents stationed a few holes up from where Trump was playing noticed the muzzle of an AK-style rifle sticking through the shrubbery that lines the course, roughly 400 yards away. An agent fired and the gunman dropped the rifle and fled in an SUV, leaving the firearm behind along with two backpacks, a scope used for aiming and a GoPro camera, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said. The man was later stopped by law enforcement in a neighbouring county.

‘I Am Relieved that Former President is Unharmed’: Joe Biden

After the attack on Trump, US President Joe Biden issued a statement reading, "I have been briefed by my team regarding what federal law enforcement is investigating as a possible assassination attempt of former President Trump today. A suspect is in custody, and I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their vigilance and their efforts to keep the former President and those around him safe."

"I am relieved that the former President is unharmed. There is an active investigation into this incident as law enforcement gathers more details about what happened. As I have said many times, there is no place for political violence or for any violence ever in our country, and I have directed my team to continue to ensure that Secret Service has every resource, capability and protective measure necessary to ensure the former President's continued safety," it further reads.

'I'm Glad He is Safe. Violence Has No Place in America': Harris

US Vice President and Democratic Party's Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris also reacted to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump . In a post on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), Harris said, "I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida. I am glad that he is safe. Violence has no place in America.”
