Denial has been Pakistan's go-to strategy when it comes to most matters related to terrorism, whether it be on the globally-acknowledged backing it gives to terrorist outfits on its soil, or over India's 2016 Surgical Strike, or Tuesday's massive airstrike on its terror camps at three locations. However, Republic TV has accessed a clincher that Pakistan can no longer deny - a signboard that exposes Imran Khan and his government's lies about the massive terror facility that India blew to smithereens in Balakot.
A day after the Indian Air Force conducted a precision strike on the massive Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen joint terror training facility in Balakot killing an estimated 245+ terrorist foot-soldiers and handlers, Republic TV's checks have revealed that the fully-equipped terror camp not only existed but was also allowed to operate openly and with impunity under the name of two known terrorists - JeM chief Masood Azhar and his brother-in-law, the IC-814 highjacker Yusuf Azhar, who has been killed in the Indian Air Force's blitz. Proof of this is in the form of a brazen signboard, pictured below:
The board gives direction to the Taleem-ul-Quran in Balakot's Manshera which in the guise of being a madrassa was actually a lavish terror training facility complete with aquatic facilities for perpetrating water-borne terror. The signboard mentions its two biggest benefactors - Masood Azhar and Yusuf Azhar who, as per intelligence reports, used to run it before being neutralised.
As per accounts, the training centre was spread over an area of over 6 acres in the forest of Balakot next to a river and contained a firing range - not something you'd expect to find in any regular educational institute - along with other facilities such as a gymnasiums and large training halls, as well as dormitories for accommodating the foot-soldiers.
While Pakistan may continue to deny its existence or call it a simple madrassa, global news agencies have also earlier quoted residents of the area admitting that the madrassa was being operated by the Jaish-e-Mohammed.
While India made clear in the press briefing issued by Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale on Tuesday that its strike had been a pre-emptive counter-terrorism operation based on intel that another attack was being plotted following the dastardly February 14 suicide bombing on the CRPF in Pulwama in which 40 Jawans were martyred, Pakistan retaliated on Wednesday by flying its F-16s into Indian airspace and attempting to bomb India's military installations. However, its plot was foiled by the Indian Air Force which deployed MIG-21s to make the Pak F-16s scarper and shot down one of them.
