Revealing Pakistan's plan of manipulating Indian cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu's affinity towards their Prime Minister, a video has surfaced from the Kartapur Corridor opening ceremony on Saturday. In the video, a Pakistan Minister alleges that 'Sidhu is our hands'. The video shows the Pakistan Prime Minister travelling via bus to the Kartarpur Gurudwara wondering 'Where is our Sidhu?', to which one of the Pakistan ministers questions if Sidhu had been barred from entering. 

"If Sidhu is stopped, he is in our hands": Pak minister

 The video then says, in a bid to undermine India quips, "Our gates are open and their gates are closed". In response one of the ministers is heard saying, "If Sidhu is stopped, it will play in our hands". Meanwhile the minister - Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting minister Firdous Ashiq Awan - comments, "If they (India) stop Sidhu", to which Imran Khan responds, " We will make Sidhu a hero". She then adds, "That will be every channel headline."

Sidhu lauds Pak PM Imran Khan

Meanwhile, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu who attended the opening ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor as the chief guest in Pakistan. He received conditional political clearance to travel to Pakistan's Kartarpur by the Ministry of External Affairs and was all praises for Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. He also extended a "Munnabhai MBBS-style hug" to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address at Kartarpur, where he was invited by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan himself.

Speaking at the event, Sidhu said: "It is the first time since partition that the boundaries have been dismantled. No one can deny my friend Imran Khan's contribution. I thank Modi ji also for it. I am sending a Munnabhai MBBS-style hug to you Modi sahab for this," said Sidhu. He also called Imran Khan, as "king of hearts" and added that his 'yaar dildar' had won hearts all over saying, "Sikandar (Alexander) won the world with fear but you won hearts all over the world".

Sidhu-EAM Kartarpur permission

Sidhu had written 3 times to the MEA seeking permission to travel to Kartarpur via the corridor, stating otherwise he will travel to Kartarpur via Wagah Border. Sidhu was personally invited by the Pakistan Government as the Chief guest to the opening ceremony. He was allowed to travel to Kartarpur only via the Kartarpur corridor and not via Wagah border crossing after he wrote an ultimatum letter to External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar stating if his impending permission to visit Kartarpur is not answered, he will go to Pakistan as a 'devotee'.

Kartapur Corridor inaugurated

PM Modi inaugurated the Integrated Check Post of the Kartarpur Corridor at Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur. After the inaugural the first jatha consisting of 500 pilgrims including 117 Punjab MLAs, former PM Manmohan Singh and Captain Amarinder Singh visited Kartarpur Gurudwara in Pakistan. On October 24, India and Pakistan signed a landmark agreement to operationalise the historic Kartarpur Corridor to allow Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the holy Darbar Sahib in Pakistan. The corridor which is operational throughout the year and seven days a week, allows people to travel visa-free. Pakistan conditionally waived the $ 20 service fee per pilgrim for the inauguration and on Guru Nanak Sahab's 550th birth Anniversary, after facing severe criticism for not doing so.
