The Pakistan Army has formally thrown in its lot with Shahid Afridi following the former Pakistan cricket captain's unsolicited, uninformed and factually compromised tweet on Tuesday where he insulted India and backed terrorists.

The Pakistan Army's spokesperson, DG-ISPR (Director General-Inter Services PR) Asif Ghafoor has tweeted childishly over the issue, attaching a video and a picture of Afridi playing against India, captioning with cheerleader-like statements.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Afridi had tweeted the following:

His tweet, which mirrored several others by Pak dispensation and Pak proxies in the Valley, attempted to distort the unprecedented terror crackdown by India in Kashmir, where 13 terrorists were killed in three operations over the weekend.

Two of the 'innocents' he referred to were involved in the cowardly killing of Lt Ummer Fayaz in May. Assault rifles had been recovered from the encounter sites, and the crackdown is said to have dealt a massive blow to Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen's operations in the Valley.

Republic TV had confronted Afridi, whose duplicity stood exposed when he refused to say a word against 26/11 plotter Hafiz Saeed.

Afridi has been soundly panned for his views with Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir tearing him to shreds.

Lyricist and Parliamentarian Javed Akhtar has also pointed out obvious holes in Afridi's reasoning.
