Even as Pakiatan missed the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference on military medicine, the air adviser in the Pakistani high commission on Thursday attended the dinner. This comes as yet aother massive embarrassment to Imran Khan's Pakistan which is unable to make the world intervene in Kashmir depite continuous attempts. The SCO conference on military medicine saw defence minister Rajnath Singh underline the need to build capabilities to tackle the growing threat of bio-terrorism around the world. Pakistan on Thursday skipped a two-day meet of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference on military medicine.
The conference, organised by India was attended by 27 international and 40 Indian delegates. Diplomatic sources had earlier said that Pakistan was expected to attend the second day of the conference on Friday. They had said Air Attache in Pakistan High Commission Abdul Adil is said to attend the conference along with another official. At the conference, the inaugural session of which was addressed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the seat allotted to Pakistan was vacant.

When asked if Pakistan was invited to the conference, a Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson said, "As far as I know, they were invited but they did not participate in today's meeting." This is the first military cooperation event hosted by India after becoming a full-time member of the SCO. India and Pakistan became SCO members in June 2017. Besides the two countries, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are also members of the SCO.

Bioterrorism is a real threat in today's time and the armed forces medical services should be at the forefront of combating the menace, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in the inaugural meet. Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's First Military Medicine Conference, Rajnath Singh said bioterrorism breaks out as a "contagious plague". "The armed forces and its medical services have to be at the forefront of combating this menace," Singh said. He also tweeted pictures of the event.
