Pakistan Foreign Minister Calls Hafiz Saeed A Liability

In a dramatic development in the situation of Pakistan, Pakistan Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif admits that Global terrorist Hafiz Saeed is a liability to Pakistan. His admission comes at a time when Pakistan has being questioned for repeatedly shielding Hafiz Saeed and LeT. Khawaja Asif has also sought time to get rid of Saeed and his terror links.

The question on terror safe havens and Hafiz Saeed was raised at the Asia Society, US.  While addressing the question, the former Pakistan Defence Minister said that Hafiz Saeed a liability for Pakistan. He, however, blamed other countries for the creation of Hafiz Saeed and said, they were ‘your darlings 20 years ago.’

On speaking to Republic TV,  Deputy CM Jammu and Kashmir and Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Nirmal Singh said, ‘It shows that whoever supports terrorism before 9/11 is being exposed.’ He added, ‘this is a happy situation. This is a diplomatic win for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India.’

On Tuesday, US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis has now warned Pakistan on terror and said that both India and US will ‘call upon those who use terror as state policy to dismantle the terror infrastructure’, leaving Pakistan embarrassed yet again.’

Earlier on Tuesday, after India, Afghanistan slammed Pakistan over decade-long terrorism. Afghan foreign minister Salahuddin Rabbani said that Afghanistan has been suffering due to the terrorism and extremism exported by neighboring Pakistan across the border for decades. Afghan Minister called on the international community to avoid looking Afghanistan "through the prism of civil war," but instead start looking at it through another factual situation that exists.
