While continuing to fearmonger over Kashmir, Pakistan Senator Rehman Malik on Monday made a major diplomatic mistake by tagging the official handle of 'Uno' - the card game, instead of the United Nations (UN). Malik who was earlier blocked by Twitter for peddling fake news, quoted Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad to cite 'brutalities in Kashmir.' Sharing ANI's tweet carrying Azad's quote on Kashmir, Malik tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking them to listen to Indian politicians' description of Kashmir. Azad had unsuccessfully tried to visit Srinagar on Saturday. He along with other Opposition leaders were sent back by Srinagar authorities.

Earlier on Saturday, after the Opposition leaders' delegation was detained at Srinagar airport, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad claimed that passengers in their flight who were on their way to Srinagar narrated terrifying stories about the situation in Jammu-Kashmir, according to ANI. He claimed that the stories were so moving that they would bring tears even to a stone. Azad is the Congress General Secretary for Haryana. He is also Rajya Sabha MP from Jammu-Kashmir.

On returning to Delhi, Rahul Gandhi who had led the Opposition delegation continued to fearmonger about the ground reality of Kashmir. Speaking to reporters at Delhi airport, he said, "Some days ago I was invited by Governor to visit J&K. I accepted the invitation. We wanted to get a sense of what people are going through. But we weren't allowed beyond the airport. Press people with us were mishandled and beaten. It is clear that the situation in J&K isn't normal," as reported by ANI. This claim of Gandhi has been busted by Republic TV, as visuals of residents playing football in the northern Kashmir district- Baramulla was accessed. Normalcy is seen being restored in the Valley of three weeks of restrictions imposed due to security reasons.

Earlier on August 23, Twitter suspended Malik's official Twitter account for peddling fake videos on Kashmir. Malik had spread false information on Twitter saying that Indian Forces were using 'gunship helicopter' against Kashmiris. His malicious intent to cause unrest in the valley was thwarted due to Jammu and Kashmir Police's swift action. The J&K Police wrote to Twitter about the matter. Since then, it appears that Malik's Twitter account has been suspended.
