Pakistani bureaucrat suspended after getting caught on CCTV stealing wallet of Kuwaiti delegate

After he was caught on camera trying to steal a wallet of Kuwaiti delegate, Pakistani bureaucrat Zarar Haider Khan has been suspended from his position, and an investigation has been called for against him.

Information and Broadcast Minister of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry, sought an enquiry against Zarar on this matter. At a news briefing, he said, "Officer found involved in the theft of Kuwaiti delegation member's wallet has been suspended from the post for further inquiry. The investigation will be carried out by Establishment division."

On Friday, Zarar Haider was caught by CCTV trying to steal a wallet of a delegate during the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting. The Kuwaiti official was on a two-day visit for a Joint Ministerial commission meet between the two countries.

Zarar Khan is a Grade 20 GoP officer who was a part of a visiting delegation that had come to meet the Prime Minister. The incident surface when Kuwaiti delegate complained about his lost wallet and CCTV footage was checked in order to nab the thief. Pakistan Finance Ministry official has expressed shock over the incident.

Earlier on Saturday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, in a powerful speech at the UNGA 2018, spoke a number of topics, including the schemes and programmes launched by India under the leadership of PM Modi to the terrorist activities by Pakistan.

Sushma Swaraj, a few minutes into her speech, divulged into the most important topic pertaining India -- Terrorism and Pakistan. She slammed Pakistan for extending its support to the masterminds of terrorist attacks, giving special attention on 9/11 attack in US and 26/11 attack in India.

Denying the fact that India does not want to initiate communication with Pakistan, Sushma Swaraj further went onto add that talks with Pakistan have begun many times. However, the only thing the stopped India was Pakistan’s behaviour.

“There have been many governments in India, by many different parties. Each government has tried the peace option. Prime Minister Modi, by inviting the Heads of the SAARC nations, to his swearing in ceremony, began his attempt for dialogue on his very first day in office”, she said.
