Pakistani authorities have decided to suspend all train services across the country to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

They said services would remain suspended until the end of the month.

Factory worker Rehman Ali said the factory had closed and he had been told to return home - but without a train service it was impossible for him to leave Karachi.

In the meantime, he said he had nowhere to live and nothing to eat.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness.
