Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has claimed that he will be visiting the Line of Control (LoC) along Pakistan Occupied Kashmir(PoK) to reportedly 'show solidarity' with the people of Kashmir. Calling for people to support Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's Kashmir Hour, Shahid Afridi announced that he will be taking part in a series of events to show solidarity and express support with the people of Kashmir. Earlier in the week, British boxer Amir Khan visited the Line of Control (LoC) to express support for the people of Kashmir but was later revealed that his visit was staged and orchestrated by the Pakistan Army. Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been running pillar to post ever since Article 370 was abrogated and has made extreme attempts along with his government to spread fake news about unrest in Jammu and Kashmir despite the Government of India assuring peace and prosperity in the valley.
With Pakistan's attempts to get international intervention via the United Nations have failed miserably, it is now using other tactics to garner global attention towards Kashmir. Just days after boxer Muhammed Ali visited the LoC, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to reveal that he was planning to visit the LoC soon. Shahid Afridi rallied for people to support Pakistan PM Imran Khan's call to 'show solidarity' with the people of Kashmir and said that he will also be visiting the house of a 'martyr' on September 6. It has become a trend in Pakistan ever since the abrogation of Article 370 to spread fake news about civil unrest and oppression in Kashmir even though there is no proof to suggest the same. Pakistan has also been exposed recently for pushing and promoting fake news in order to create unrest and misinform people about the happenings in Kashmir. Here's what Shahid Afridi had to say about Kashmir:
Let’s respond to PM call for Kashmir Hour as a nation. I will be at Mazar e Quaid at 12 pm on Friday. Join me to express solidarity with our Kashmiri brethren.— Shahid Afridi (@SAfridiOfficial) August 28, 2019
On 6 Sep I will visit home of a Shaheed. I will soon be visiting LOC.
Addressing the nation on Monday, Pakistan PM Imran Khan had asked the people of Pakistan to stand up for Kashmir, literally, every Friday between 12 to 12:30. During the address, the Pakistan PM Imran Khan appealed to the people of Pakistan to stand by Kashmir every week, as an effort to show solidarity over the abrogation of Article 370 and the subsequent communication blackout in the state. He said, "We should give Kashmiri people a message that we are with them. We will do an event every week, in schools, universities and offices. This Friday, from 12 to 12:30, you must stop work and stand with the public to tell the people that we are with Kashmiri people. Those who are at home, should also get on the streets, so that people should know we are standing with them."
