A couple from Australia dumped ashes of their burnt home which was lost in a wildfire on the doorstep of New South Wales Parliament during a School Strike 4 Climate-led demonstration. A wildfire across New South Wales and Queensland have reportedly burnt 150 homes. As of now, three people have died and hundreds of animals have been killed as well. Questions linger as people try to establish the reason behind the wildfire wondering if it was climate change or some other cause. The start to the fire season has been unprecedented based on the number of fires, the amount of land burned and a number of homes lost said, experts. Yet conservative politicians have reportedly avoided the question.

Aussie couple speaks for climate change

Aaron Crowe and Fiona Lee lost their Bobin home to the fires. Aaron told the people who gathered for the rally that the Government has decided to wind back climate policy when people are dying due to climate change. He added that it is not a coincidence that scientists are warning the humans of climate change. Though fire chiefs in NSW want to meet the Prime Minister and tell him the reason behind the fires, he won't listen, he said, adding, he would say its not enough for action. His wife Fiona added that now is the best time to talk about climate change.

Conservatives avert the link with climate change

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Prime Minister Scott Morrison have been reportedly dodging links between the bushfire and climate change. Speaking to the media, Morrison said that his thoughts are with those who have lost their lives and their families. "The firefighters who are fighting the fires, the response effort that has to be delivered and how the Commonwealth has to respond in supporting those efforts," Morrison was quoted as saying.

Deputy PM Michael McCormack mocks climate change

When Gladys Berejiklian was quizzed in the media about the issue, she said it was not the right time to say anything. She further said that it is true that drought has added to the spreading of fire but there was no need for political argument. Responding to the same question Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack said that fires in Australia have been there "since time began". People now need sympathy, understanding, help, and shelter, he added.

Making fun of the climate change issue, he said that the people don't need the ravings of some pure, enlightened and woke capital-city greenies at this time.
