Australia-Chile women’s friendly attracts record 20,029 fans

Australian association football player, Sam Kerr has scored two goals for the Australian team in a 2-1 friendly win on November 9 over Chile. The Football Federation of Australia said that the match attracted a record crowd of 20,029 for a women’s soccer match in Australia. The match was organized at a new stadium in western Sydney, which broke the previous mark of 16,829 for an Australia-Brazil game at Newcastle, north of Sydney, on November 19, 2017. Kerr scored in each half and has scored 40 goals in her past 40 games for Perth in the W-League, Chicago in the NWSL, and Australia. She has scored 38 goals in total for Australia.
