Fifteen-thousand people protested against the death of George Floyd and police brutality at Berlin Alexander Square on Saturday, according to police figures.

Demonstrators gathered in the heart of the city in solidarity with US protesters who have been rallying over the death of Floyd in Minneapolis.

The Europe-wide protests came nearly two weeks after the death of Floyd, who was pinned to the ground by a police officer for nearly nine minutes.

Demonstrators wore black in a sign of solidarity with the movement Black Lives Matter.
