Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on Friday dismissed the US Treasury Secretary's comments on the validity of her advice on climate change saying they had "no effect" on her.

"We are being criticized like that all the time and if we would care about that we wouldn't be able to do what we do," the teenage activist told journalists at a Q&A session in Davos.

Steve Mnuchin said on Thursday Thunberg was in no position to give economic advice until she’s gone to college and come out with an economics degree.

At a briefing at the World Economic Forum, Mnuchin took a swipe at the 17-year-old environmental campaigner for her recommendation that both the public and private sectors should divest from fossil fuels.
