Eiffel Tower evacuated after man climbs up iconic monument. Tap here for LIVE updates

The Eiffel Tower has been evacuated until further notice after a man was spotted climbing up the iconic monument. As per reports, the police have arrived at the scene and are negotiating with the man. Sources suggest that he has climbed up more than 300m up the landmark. 

The official social media account of the monument also broke the news in a tweet that read, "Eiffel Tower is currently closed until further notice. We kindly advise our visitors to postpone their visit." 

The Eiffel Tower, which just celebrated its 130th anniversary, is about 900 feet tall. Roughly six million people visit the tower each year.
